The Good Samaritan

Yesterday, we read the parable of The Good Samaritan.  We discussed how Jesus would want us to be the kind of person that would help others.  Today, we watched a modern day version of the story which was actually a social experiment.  The experiment was to see if anyone would help a seven year old homeless child with no jacket on freezing on a city street.  Sadly, so many people were too busy, distracted or maybe just uninterested to help.  Finally, a good samaritan, another homeless person, helped the boy.  He showed him kindness by asking if he was okay and giving him his own jacket.   We had a great discussion about the video and came up with a plan for something we could do.  Pray.  We promised to add a special prayer each day during Lent for all those in need of the things that we all are lucky enough to have.  Proudly, this suggestion was not mine but was one of our students.

Many of you may have already seen this but I am sharing the link below. (sorry, you'll have to copy and paste)
