We have been very busy this week learning about responsibility as we read about in our story Mole and the Baby Bird.  Mole learned that being responsible didn't just mean taking care of his pet bird but also setting his pet free to live in its natural habitat.

Our "words we know" are growing as we learned the letter "F' and "O".  We can now put together words with the short "a", short "i" and short "o" sounds.

Comparing measurement has been fun.  The homework pages were full of great examples!  Everyone  especially liked the "long" toenails!  We understand capacity is all about "holds more", "holds less" or "holds the same".  Today, we learned about area which we measure as "covers more", "covers less" or "covers the same".  We are finishing up tomorrow with "hot" and "cold".

We are also working on "kindness" and those being caught in the act are helping to fill up a big class heart by adding a little heart with their name on it. Our goal is to fill the heart by Valentine's Day.

Every day we try to live by "The Golden Rule" which is all about being kind as we would like others to be kind to us.
